Well I've painted onto a $3 shirt I got from Joann's for an open house, but it's looking a little bland as I'm waiting for it to dry.  I figured adding some side ties would make it more feminine and interesting (besides the wonderful purple paint and squiggles), but I haven't been able to really find any advice on it.

Do you just cut up the side seams, cut sideways like you're making fringe, and then tie knots? Any suggestions/tips/things I should look out for?

Thanks in advance!

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.

That is all there is to it.  Cut up the side.  Cut fringe and tie.  Hopefully the shirt is a little bit big on you because ties will make it smaller.
