oh wow! that necklace is so rad! whenever i use shrinky dink it always folds up on itself and ends up not not lying flat and not looking too great in the end. do you use a regular oven or a toaster oven?

Thanks guys!

Kayliecelery: I'm glad it made you aware of the wonders of shrinkydink Tongue. There are other people on here using it a too - users astr0zombie and SewEnthusiastic boths have shrinkythings on the first pages of the board for example. Smiley check em out and add yourself to the numbers of shrinkydink jewelers by creating something too Tongue

Skaborsk: Sometimes if the pieces are particularly long they stick together. I just have two spoons handy and keep an eye on the shrinking process (as it only takes a minute or two) If anything starts to stick I just prod or pry them apart with the spoon handles Tongue I take them out of the oven once they've curled up and lain flat again and then take a piece of cardboard and press down on them if they seem like they're rippled.  I've only had one mess up on me so far.

Cool necklace. I love this shrinky dink necklace!
Here's a great thing I found on the net! I love this! Save's money and I get use my permanent markers! Sorry, just love those things.  You use the recyclable plastic that solo brand cups are make of, #6 plastic. You use  permanent markers, like Sharpie brand, to draw your design and 'bake'. You do need to use a heavy book to flatten out the plastic sometime. Slide is gently on top so it will harden flat of you need to. I've done this once so far with the kids, we had a pack of the real shrinky dinks too and we were happy with both. The marker puddled a little on the #6 plastic sometimes, but for free, we dealt with it!
You will be able to find the plastic in flatter pieces, it's not just cups in comes in.
Here's the link, it will make so much more sense! (i have no connection to this web site)
