I am jealous of your surplus of socks.  I have the sock monster book and have made a couple so far - really addictive.  I just made one for my brother, but need more people to make them for =).

I don't know of this sock mosnter book. Now I'm going to have to try and find it. I would be more then happy to share some socks if I have left overs after making my pillow. I now have this insane urge to go and make it!

I have a baby and that generates a lot of good leftover packaging. Even before I knew of this swap, I was hoarding those containers.  Smiley

I remember the days of the kids making a ton of trash. I gave upon most store bought things as a result. Mind you the wipes containers are great for storing all kinds of things!

I am getting really excited for this swap, and even more excited that we're getting some questionaires in from around the world. That is very fun!

Hey everyone!  I'm so glad to be a part of this swap!  I just recently-about two weeks ago-reccommended to my employer to start recycling the cardboard boxes that they throw away everyday.  They probably throw out twenty to thirty cardboard boxes a day, which is insane.  First they were skeptical and said that they didn't know where to take them and didn't know how to store them.  Now they have a bin for the boxes.  They flatten them and put them in the bin and I take them to my university which has an amazing recycling program for everything.  It's sad that if I hadn't offered to take them they would have just kept throwing them out.  The university is only twenty miles away...worth it I think Smiley

most office buildings have a recycle program for all of their tenants through a local recycling company for both cardboard and/or office paper.  It's sad to think my town is the only one in the country (I hope not) that offers recycling through our local garbage service.  Instead of one trash can, you put out two, one trash and one recycleables.

Here in Orange County, Ca the waste companies offer that too as well as a greens waste can in some areas.
