Is it sad that I've been scannig my trash for things to get crafty with? I just want to get started!

Lol, not sad at all! I've been scanning my trash for something to use for this month's Craftster challenge to make a shopping bag, but we don't toss anything sturdy enough that I've found so far to make a bag from! lol

Not sad at all.  I went to my local thrift shop the other day and came home with all sort of goodies.  It was Australia day and the shop wasn't open >.> oops.  Someone had made a big drop-off and left it out the front.

I thought I was sprung when a lady pulled up and asked me what I was after.

Me:  I was after fabric to make things from, like toys and bags and things (etc, etc)
Her:  That's a wonderful idea, is there anything you'd like here (shows me a boot / car full of stuff).
Me: (Raids her stuff)
Her:  Offers me a ride home.
Me:  I offer to help her move when the time comes (we're chatting)
Her:  Asks if I do odd jobs (I do, I'm an ex-gardener and back at uni and would like to earn more odd jobs money).  Offers to recommend me to a friend who needs some pruning done (my fav job) and some roses put in (planting is my second fav job).

Haha!  The moral of this story:  Being a dodgy and shifty thrift shop thief pays off.

PS I am a good Salvos customer usually and also donate to them.  Hopefully karma won't kick my arse sometime in the future.

Oh good I'm not alone!!!  I have this bag of odd socks that I'm eyeing up thinking that it would make an awsome pillow! Now what to stuff it with? Some of the 10lbs of stuffing I got at the thrift store or make a small one and use the rest of the socks....... so many choices!

I am jealous of your surplus of socks.  I have the sock monster book and have made a couple so far - really addictive.  I just made one for my brother, but need more people to make them for =).

OOOHHH, it's all your fault Grin
I keep looking at all my trash and thinking about all the nice things I could do with it + how many sea shells I could salvage from the beach down the road and do I need an excuse to go down to the Salvation Army shop???
Give one reason why I shouldn't be joining you, or else Wink
