Wow, I thought for sure I'd have some spare time over the holiday break to spend some time here but oh boy was I wrong......my job worked the heck out of me for the entire time so that I couldn't even get caught up on some of the things I'd hoped to do over the break.  Sigh.

I needed to finish this painting over the holiday but wasn't able to do so until I got back to classes.  Still, I'm SO glad it is now complete!  I was painted for my Fantasy/Sci-Fi painting class.  Fantasy/Sci-Fi isn't really my thing but I thought it would be good experience to learn to do some work in this genre. I'm thrilled with how it turned out and I'm actually looking forward to doing a few more like this.

Oils on 24" x 36" cradled Ampersand Gessobord.  The figure was built up layers of VanDyke Brown and white with later glazes of color.  The title is "There's No More PIE!" (I like the title because it makes me giggle!!).

Thanks guys!  The technique I used made "short work" (still a LOT of work, but less than it would have otherwise taken) of the project.

I'm so pleased with how this painting turned out that I've opted to take one of my other classes as an independent study with this instructor.......th ere shall be more creepiness to come (though it may be a few months before completion).
