So, I dredged this mirror up from the decay my grandfather calls an office about three years ago. It was a nasty, peeling mess of gold paint (Sadly, no before photo.). Being who I am, I turned it this lovely silver without realizing how it pretty much disappears into the walls over every apartment on the planet. Well, no more! I present my mirror in Bali Turquoise by the wonderful Ralph Lauren!

After:

Special thanks for Mr. Lauren for discontinuing his sample sizes. $1.50 for the paint of which there is roughly 95% left, $.50 for the brush which I can reuse later, and a free mirror. I have a feeling Bali Turquoise may find it's way into other parts of my life. And I have a feeling Home Depot may suddenly run out of Ralph Lauren samples. >.>

Love that color!!!  Check at yard sales, I'll bet you can find some sconces and maybe  a "console" table as I believe it is Home Interior .  Definately an improvement over the silver, and the original gold (yeah, I rescued one like that once that had sea shells stuck to it  with thick clear glue or caulk, something.  But it all came off!) Good job!

Thank you, ladies!

If you're going to do this, I will say that the really good paints don't do so hot on this project because they're too thick. If I could do it over again, I'd water the paint down a bit and do two or even three coats. I'm sure it's fine on flat surfaces, in fact probably awesome. But shoving paint into nooks and crannies it doesn't want to go into isn't fun.
