I'll start off by saying I'm a big fan of "engrish". Who wouldn't love a stenciled engrish t-shirt, some clever "human dumpling" earrings, or a CD wallet for all their "Eric Crapton" albums?  Grin

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, check out www.engrish.com

Anyone in for a silly ol' Engrish swap?

i might have to steal some phrases from dh and his ESL classmates...
would murderings of other languages be also fair game (in which case i could also get some from my beginners at spanish), or only fractured english?

I think it would be super fun to do all the fractured languages we could, as long as we had accommodating partners! Maybe we could turn this into a "Murder My Language" swap! *giggle*

i'm all for murdering a variety of languages.

one time i had my 101s and 102s do spanglish lolcats for a bonus.
it was a mitigated success, but it beat trying to get people at a first year level to produce *correct* funny things in spanish.

(i wanted the top to say " i can has espanglish? claro que h*** yeah!" like the song of the Texas Tornados.  but i decided to maintain a little propriety since this was for a campus activity)

Cheesy Oh my that made me laugh so hard. I'm some what bilingual and the second is spanish. (I'm part mexican) I love the butchery of english in any form, it makes me giggle in public. But I usually get a hardy laugh at the crazy translations from the Japanese. I'm keeping an eye on this board just in case we get a swap outta it.

i was really annoyed the first time i saw a t-shirt with a pizza box with "PICSA" written on it, but now i like it... dh even has me saying it that way jaja

oh btw let me put something useful, this flickr group has maybe more variety of languages so we could use it for an extra inspiration:

these few here are found by dh and me.  i'm rather proud of the tacky glue (oh no they didn't!!)

I'm so in! I live in China, teach students who produce delicious Chinglish and collect photos of delightful the hilarious signs I find around the place.

If there was ever a swap calling my name this is it.
