I want to glue aluminum foil to the type of plastic that milk jugs are made of.  Any suggestions for a nice flat, bubble free adhesive that will hold it on there good?

I think I'd use an all-purpose spray adhesive.  Spray both surfaces with a thin layer, let dry 2 - 3 minutes and then join.

That being said, I don't think I've ever bonded those two materials, so I'd definitely try a test piece first!

Milk jugs are made with high density polyethylene, a material which is not very glue friendly. Things just dont stick well to it, sadly the best glue for this is hot glue (its the same chemically) but that will probably melt the milk jug...I am pretty sure that is not what you are after.

if the spray adhesive doesnt work you could try two part polyester resins, ie the type of stuff that is used as casting resins,

but  how you glue is also important, if you wrap the aluminium foil completely around the milk jug and glue it to itself on the overlap, you will get a better bond.
