Hi everyone!

I'm looking for unusual sock patterns. I'm not talking about different ways to knit socks, like the magic loop method. I'd like to knit socks that are not shaped the way one is used to, like knitty's hat-heel sock.

My dad loves handknit socks and my mom allways made him all the socks he wanted. But recently knitting lead to really bad tensions in her neck and she had to stop. She gave me all her yarn and needles and I'd like to make several pairs of socks for my dad's birthday. But I want to try something new.

I wish my lipstick was a little more ... HALLUCINOGENIC!

Look for Cat Bordhi's book - new pathways for socknitters - (or something like that). She has different ideas for sock constructions.

ETA - I just noticed you're in Europe, I don't know how easy it is to get hold of it there. I'll look around for patterns online too.

There's a translated pattern for sideways socks on the socknitter's website

Thank you so much for the pattern link. I didn't even know there was a socknitters website.

And the original is in German!!

I also found this pattern that I'm going to make. But I'm afraid that's something my dad is not going to like.

I also got the Francie pattern
