I made a pillow which has just the polyester filling yesterday. Apparently you can wash the whole pillow so yesterday I stuck it in the washing machine at 40 but to my horror within 10 minutes the seams had opened and the machine was full of filling ....... what did I do wrong?Huh

 YIKES!! what a mess!! Shocked

A couple of things may have happened.. depending on where the seams broke at..

1) if it's all over, possibly your thread was not good quality or maybe old or not the proper type for your project.
2) your stitches may have been too loose/tight and the extra agitation from the washer may have caused strain on the seams.. thus they broke open.

Really it could be any number of things, but I would go with the thread as the prime suspect. Old and poor quality thread will do it everytime, don't skimp when it comes to thread, lol valuable lesson learned speaking from experience! I have a similar experience.
