Wow, What a great job!

I know how to call when I get back into photography (had to sell my camera when I got in a tough spot, looking to get a new one) and need an awesome bag.

That is such a beautiful fabric, what a wonderful choice for this bag! I love how professional and finished it looks. I love the green you used with it too, a perfect complement! Cheesy

THIS ROCKS!!!

I'd love to make one for my husband. His birthday is right around the corner and I desperately needed an idea. Thanks a lot!

Is the padding somehow attached to the fabric? If not, how does it stay in place? How many pieces are there? I looked at my husbands current camera bag and there seem to be three pieces of padding. One for the bottom, one for the back and one that goes around the sides and the front.

I'm working on a tutorial right now, so you'll be able to see all my secrets. Smiley
to answer your questions:
The padding is indeed attached to the fabric. I used some steam-a-seam to keep the top of the front and back of the lining attached to the padding, just to keep it tight at the top. and that reminds me to add "do not iron over velcro unless you have a pressing cloth" to the tutorial Smiley
I cut 5 pieces of padding. one for each side, front, back, and bottom. They stay in place by friction, mainly. I cut the pieces (quite by accident) so they would fit together snugly inside: the bottom 1/4" smaller on all 4 sides than the dimensions I wanted the bag to be, the sides were 1/4" smaller on each side and 1/4" longer on the bottom, and the front and back were 1/4" longer on the sides and bottom.  I tried gluing them together, but I couldn't get them through the hole in the lining (it was a big hole), so I took the front and back off, kept the sides and bottom glued together.

Thank you, everyone for your wonderful comments and questions! I hope I'll be able to get the tutorial up this weekend.

I've posted the tutorial on my blog. http://creatinghappinessblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/padded-dslr-camera-bag-tutorial.html

I would post it over here, too, but I can't seem to figure out pictures....*sigh*
