Wow, what a lot of stuff all at once! Montyfull, those drawings are fantastic - the costumes and the characters are so perfect. The exact blend of Steampunk and Circus that I imagined but wasn't able to achieve. And now it's the Capelet Swap! (Last week it was the Mustache Swap.)The detail on that absolutely makes it. I have a brass wind-up key exactly like that, but unlike you I couldn't find a way to incorporate it into anything. Next time, I guess.

Haha, I had a hard time figuring out what to do with that key!  I tried a few different things, but nothing worked. I was looking at the capelet at the end, and thinking "hrm. it needs something." Started bunching scraps together and it just worked out. Smiley  Was just the little something I think it needed.

I'm really glad you liked everything, Aisy!  I really wanted to put little brass name plates under those sketches... "The Strong Man", "The Lion Tamer", "The Tight Rope Walker", but I just ran out of time.  I'm loving my steampunky accessories, and so are my coworkers. Smiley

I really loved NightOwl's little top hat from ladylove. Smiley Also diggin the feather headband from cursive queen!!!  And that bear from Annachronism is perfect!!!!!  Way to go guys Cheesy  More! More!

That didn't take as long as I thought it would, so without further ado, cue the music!

the Trickster did a really great job on my package.

a cool necklace

A very awesome jewelry/treasure box, I collect treasure boxes, not sure how she figured that out but I love this one

And some fingerless glove, they are a little tight on me and a little big on my daughter, who is the model her, so I told her we could share them, which she rather liked.

Next, my favourite thing a mini top hat (modeled here by my daughter)

a different pic

Great first swap, awesome stuff!

Hi! Finally getting a chance to post pics of the package I got from blushingbluegrass. She's right- we must think the same way- we both made each other an elephant tote! Here's a pic of everything together. She sent a tote, a cute wall hanging, two hats from my wist, a vintage circus book, two little glass vials, and tons of tiny watch gears. Yay!

Here's a pic of all of it together except the book. Oh, and one hat is MIA. I have been looking for it for days so I could get pics of everything together, but my daughter has taken off with it and can't remember where she put it. (She's 3) It's just like the one pictured but in red. I love them!

Action shot- forgive the mirror pic. I love the tiny gears used as the center of the flower!

and a shot of the vintage book:

Thank you so much blushingbluegrass! I had fun swapping with you!

I hope you don't mind if I post a few clearer pics of what I sent.
The ornament is a wind up toy that I totally took apart and painted. I had so much fun making him! I think I'm gonna post him in the toy category as it's own topic- I kinda want to show him off. Smiley I knew you said you liked unusual ornaments, so I thought why not add some steampunk to your tree! The tote was fun to make- I still can't believe we came up with the same idea! The wall hanging is a vintage plate and odds and ends. I especially love the cameo with the gears in her hair. I had a blast crafting for this swap. Hope you like everything. Oh, and the little extra- the tiger in the cage- you're supposed to fill it with water and the tiger grows. Smiley I also forgot my note in the box!

Stempunk man: and yes, he works! I loved the gears on the hat and on his shirt with the chain. Smiley

He was originally red, white, and blue and part of a circus set of toys. I ended up butchering three of them to get all the parts I wanted on this guy. Smiley My kids loved watching him zoom around with his legs pumping and I got them each one. I love wind up toys and wish they made more of them still!

And he's off! I wanted to make him look "steam powered," hence the cotton fluff coming out the back end.

Ohhh, I covet that circus book! And good to see more of the great little bicycling ringmaster. This is one where a "before" shot would be interesting; he's so perfectly Steampunk now, and I'm willing to bet you did a lot more than gluing on some watch gears to get him there!
