Normally I like plaid.. on other people. I'm more of a 1 color gall. Black.. mostly. But when I saw this plaid fabric I was sold. I told myself that I bought it for my sister's promdress, but when it turned out that I needed at least 5 more meters of the fabric and that it was sold out, I could use it for myself again.

So I started folding. And folding.. And finally I started sewing al those folds. After sewing al those folds I made it formfitting and then I wanted to add some cute frumply sleeves. But then I discovered something that made me throw this dress in a corner and never finished until yesterday. It has been on the radiator for almost 3 months. It wasn't until my father asked me if he could throw it away that I started working on it again. And made a lacey vest to go with it.

This is the result.

I'm looking a little grumpy on this one, but around that time I was awake for almost 36 hours. I just wanted to sleep. Tongue

This is how the dress looks on top witout the vest. I made straps with some lace I had laying around.

And on the next two pictures you can see how I pleated everything and sewed it down.

Thanks for looking.

So cute great job. I would love a dress like that and you look Great in it. Sometimes we just need to take that 3 month radiator break on something to see it in a new light.
