I wanted to show some pictures of the pillow I made my boyfriend, Alex, for Christmas.

I put in around 25 hours work on it, and it all started from a little computer graphic the size of my pinkie nail. I blew it up in Photoshop, marked out a grid, broke the colours down into a guide, bought matching fabric, and cut enough squares to put him together pixel by pixel. I then quilted the top, made the back, stuffed&sewed it up and excitedly wrapped it in a ginormous box!

Alex luvin it!

Thats freakin awsome!  I don't have the paitence to do something that complicated. I get all rushy and my squares get all lopsided. Maybe one day I'll be able to pull something this cool off.
Excellent work!

You've totally inspired me to make a quilt pillow.  I was feeling more than a little intimidated at the whole quilt blanket, but this seems much more managable.  Though- it doesn't look like you skimped on squares, at all.

Great job!  It rocks!

Lol, no. No skimping! I made too little at first because I didn't want to waste, but then I realized I needed more and made too much. I threw the rest out after, I felt bad.  Embarrassed

I would like to try something like your pillow. I have found a website that has sprites. But I would like to know how to get the picture off the webpage and into paint for pixelating purposes. Any tips please?

What I did was hit the "print screen" button on my keyboard. Then I pasted it onto a blank document in photoshop. I zoomed in until the pixels became visible blocks. Then I hit "print screen" again. That captured it at that size. New document, paste, then crop mega man. Voila. Big blocky image. I'll upload the one I had made, but you can see the print I made of it in one of my progress pics.

I should note, one thing that can happen is that you'll have a million shades of the same colour. Try to round it off as a much as you can so that you can find matching fabric.

DISCLAIMER: I don't mind at all if people want to attempt creating their own version of my megaman pillow, however if you do, please give credit to me at my blog http://amys-creations.blogspot.com , and kindly send me a link, I'd LOVE  to see it! Smiley

This pattern/project is not to be used for profit. Absolutely everyone is free to use it.
