I am definitely going to be sending in my questionnaire to this swap but as its not full ye I'm going to spend a bit more time thinking about my RPG sheet. I spent last week asking all my friends what house I'd be in/what subjects etc. if I was at Hogwarts. It was actually really interesting to find out what people thought. But anyhooo...just to let you know I'm in (if you let me) but I'm not sending in my questionnaire for a couple of days yet.

Also what kind of timescale were most people working on from the Great War as it were? 5? 10? 15 years?

Angelicus, you can send your questionnaire in to become a member of the swap and then post your RP character afterwards as long it's posted by 1/31. Smiley

To everyone wondering about what magical children do before Hogwarts, I think I read in a JKR interview somewhere that their parents often homeschool them, or might even send them to muggle school...They have to learn to read and write sometime right?

Yeah I was going to say something like that too. I think Ron mentionned it once.

The great was happened in 1997, according to the fact that in the second book Harry goes to Headless Nick's 400th day bday on october 92 (or something like that). So we're a little less then 15 years later.

Do you mean the first rise of Voldemort or the second?  The numbers of the books are supposed to correspond to the year, so Book 1 was in 1991, Book 2, 1992, etc.  Voldemort came back at the end of Book 4, which would have been 1995.

This is from the Harry Potter wiki: "The First Wizarding War was fought for approximately eleven years, from 1970 to 1981. It included Lord Voldemort's rise to power, the induction of the Death Eaters, and the mass chaos that resulted in his reign of terror." "The Second War technically began in June of 1995, though was not officially announced by the Ministry until June of 1996, and ended on May 2, 1998, at the death of the Dark Lord. "

I would have thought that Mr. Weasley would have sprung at the chance to send his kids to Muggle schools, but Ron seems as clueless about the Muggle world as the other wizarding children.

I don't mind swapping with someone with a character from another house or another school.  I'm just antsy to get started!
