I found this pattern here on Craftster just before Christmas and was inspired to make purses as gifts for my female relatives and friends.

I altered it slightly by using a stiff interfacing so they'd keep their shape even when stuffed with change, cards, etc.
I also shaped the flaps so that they were curved:

And, since I didn't have any snap buttons in my stash, I used velcro for the fasteners.

I'm pretty pleased with this project.  And it was all from stash so all five purses were essentially free.  Yay for thrifty gifts!

Those are awesome! I like your fabric choices. If these came from your stash- you have a envious stash!!  Grin

Very nice. I'm definitely wanting to try this pattern out. Especially on seeing how well yours turned out.

They look great! I especially love the one in the first pic. And I like that you used velcro as well, no need to go out and buy snap buttons! Smiley

The only purpose of the day job is to buy the craft supplies!! Cheesy  Seriously, I LOVE making personalized crafts. I now have a line of hand-crafted fans and notecards using the Zentangle (R) technique. I have also become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and teach other artforms and techniques.
