The crafting cure! Cheaper than therapy!  Cheesy

So I had this clementine case that was just kicking around waiting for a little spiff-up, and today I found half of a falling-apart book with nice yellowing pages in the free box on my college campus. I mod podged some pages to the outside and inside and glued on some big wooden beads for the feet.

Beginning of life:

New home on my desk:

I really like the look, and it freed up some space on my desk.
So that was my Friday night! I feel better now.

Great job. How inspirational, I have quite a few boxes at my office that I have been intending to cover and use around the place. Guess I will need to get busy. Was gonna use scrapbook paper or fabric. Maybe I will just use photos from the trade magazine for the company who sent the boxes. Thanks for the idea, your pics made me think of it. Grin

The only purpose of the day job is to buy the craft supplies!! Cheesy  Seriously, I LOVE making personalized crafts. I now have a line of hand-crafted fans and notecards using the Zentangle (R) technique. I have also become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and teach other artforms and techniques.

Hmmm, I wouldn't have ever thought to do that. Great idea and thanks for sharing. It inspires me to look around for something like it and cover it as you did to help me organize my things. Sounds like it was very thereputic for you.

I forgot to add that when I first saw it completed, I thought this would be great for someone who runs a daycare. I can imagine the children going and getting items out of it and even carrying it from shelves to tabletop for activities. Again, thanks for posting!

Thank you for sharing this...I got some Mod Podge for Christmas and haven't jumped into that arena yet! I have a box similar to yours that I want to paste over with our old calendar pictures. Isn't it nice to recreate what would have otherwise been thrown away?

Anyway, this inspires me to finally try out this technique, so thanks again!

I like this because it is so simple, it is something I could complete in a limited amount of time and then it is useful. Plus I hate throwing out those clementine crates.
Nice job! Cool Cool Cool

Thank you for your comments everyone - you craftsters brighten my day too! Grin

And Bobbinwynder I really like your idea for things like this as supply boxes for children.
