I think today is the 5th anniversary of the day I signed up for Craftster.org (though I know I lurked for quite a while before signing up), and I have learned SO MUCH!

In honor of this momentous occasion I re-purposed a Cat calendar from the dollar store

into cards and envelopes, turning each picture-of-the-month into envelopes and then taking the tiny index images

and matting them into "medallions" for matching notecards.

Back of envelope and card

Front of envelope and card

Other examples:

I know that I should have cropped these pictures better but was afraid that I'd miss the date deadline if I goobered around any more.

Now I find myself watching for all kinds of calendars to convert to Paper Fun!

Happy New Year, in more ways than one! Tell me what you think, please!

The cat who lives with us (it's hard to refer to him as MY cat, or even OUR cat, even after 9 years) helped pick out the next calendar to turn into cards and envelopes:

THIS - this is an idea of pure genius! I wish I had thought of that before tossing the bunny calendar at work. Sad

This is such a supercool idea! You should sell those! Not really my taste of motive but the idea rocks!

Now I'm gathering up all the old calendars that I can get my hands on, AND am watching out for bargains at thrift stores and dollar stores....

This is such a great idea.  I hope you don't mind if I borrow it.  I have been saving a calendar with baby kitties on it and didn't know what to do with it.  I've had it stashed for three years, just knowing the right project would come along.

Awesome work!!!!

That is a GREAT idea! And they look awesome!  Those would be nice to give away as gifts!
