Over the last few months, I keep hearing the same thing.

I'd like to learn to spin but...
           I don't have/can't afford a spinning wheel

If you would like to learn to spin, but you have no wheel, post here.
Edit - it's begun!

1.) source spindle & materials
2.) pre-drafting

3.) spinning a single and winding off to ply
-4.) plying
-plying winding off and setting the twist
-designing your yarn

This should be loads of fun!
Welcome everyone who would like to spin  Smiley
I thought we could do this as a "topic per week" kinda thing, progressing through skills.
Or maybe every two weeks cause I know you've all got other life things going on
And there will be homework Wink

I would love to learn to spin.  I have ZERO experience (heck, I cant even knit or crochet).  I just love looking at handspun art yarns.

Drive from ocean to ocean. Then you'll understand.

I've always wanted to spin my own yarn and just bought a drop spindle kit from Esty. I'm curious to see what this ends up being and if it'll tie into my own attempts at spinning.

Ooh, yeah, I'd love to learn how to spin!

Only recently discovered the excellence of crochet, so the thought of now being able to make my own yarn is brilliant!

Will be watching this thread intently.  Grin

tar3820 - should do, I'm just planning the sequence of the topic areas now.
Stick with us  Smiley Chances are that you'll be able to share valuble insights, and/or there'll be new ideas for you to try.
