That is wonderful that you have such a good friend. As for the bag I love your choice in fabrics and the bag itself reflects good planning and technique. It looks fantastic.

As others have said, this is a georgous bag.  Your choice of fabrics for the background and the bird, the craftswomanship that went into the applique, the finish you gave the bag makes it more than a bag, it is a work of art.  You friend will, indeed, cherish it and the obvious love you poured into it.

I often think of people as I make things for them.  Much like a prayer shawl (in which prayers are said during the making of it), you cannot help but infuse positive thoughts and feelings into something so obviously made with gratitude and love. 

I hope  your situation improves and what you send out to the universe is returned ten fold.
