I'm so behind in my posting to Craftster! I've been really busy making stuff, I just haven't had time to put photos up here.

This is a golden dragonet, or firelizard, that I made for the Dragonriders of Pern swap last autumn. I tried to make it roughly life-size as described in the books (though I think this must be quite a young one). Here she is sitting on my son's shoulder:

Although there is no wire in the body or wings, the stiffness of the crochet makes her fairly poseable:

Here's a photo from the top so you can see the wings spread out:

Dragons in the books are described as having faceted eyes, so I found some beads that looked about right:

I hope you like her, any comments and criticisms welcome!

That is incredible.  I love the pale yellow and the blue eyes.

Super!  My favorite crochet dragon-type ami I've seen.  And I loved those books.  She really looks amazing, and I also love that picture of her nosing your son Smiley  Do you plan to sell the pattern at any time?  I'd love to make one for my little guy sometime.

I love-love-love her!!! Shocked And I don't even know the books that inspired you. Though they sound like something I would have enjoyed when I was younger (I had a thing for dragons).
