I was thinking that out in the sun, they would get pretty hot as well...but you would not want to wear anything over it so maybe just walking around on a warm and semi-cloudy day would show it off beautifully!

You would probably have to sew any lining in by hand--with one the color of your skin, it would not even show (just like in a crochet bikini!)

a black bikini bottom would be cute as I don't think a metal one would, uh, be comfortable at all!!!

Not all suits have to be for swimming! ha ha

You could line it with a black fabric and make the bottoms have a trim of the pop tabs around the waist or maybe make a short skirt out of the pop tabs over a pair of bottoms, or maybe a v shape in the front and back that hangs. The possibilities are endless.

What would I sew the lining to? Also I was thinking for bottoms, since you're very right it would be uncomfortable, maybe I could just make regular black ones and put a soda tab belt on them! that was its decorated similarly but not uncomfortably.

Can't you just whip stitch it to the tabs at the edges?

About how many tabs did they take? I've been saving soda tabs for a while now and I have a few hundred. Are you going to use some kind of sealer on it to prevent it from rusting?

It took about 240 of them in total, around 120 for each side but it really depends on how big your cup is Tongue .. also they are made of aluminum so they shouldnt rust.  But I guess I'll find out this summer when I wear the prototype Tongue

Ok, this is seriously rad!!!! Grin I keep thinking I want one, but I wouldn't be able to use it for swimming (it would blind everyone when the sun reflects off the tabs). Great idea, using pop tabs as a top... I never would've thought of that!
