this is probably my favourite FO yet, and it's a totally self-designed pattern, from structure to stitch pattern Smiley

i'm thinking of submitting to knitty (hence won't be posting the pattern yet as they don't allow pre-published submittions), do you think it's good enough?

This is really cute and you should be totally proud of it. I really like the sleeve length being just above the elbow.

If you are thinking about submitting it, I'll be really picky and say that I think the pattern is great but the pulling you're getting on the right front when it's done up should be corrected. That's probably a fit issue and if it was just a bit larger it would lie flat, at least that's what I'd think from my sewing background.

(As a note I don't actually knit so while I'm being a bit critical I am still in awe. I do crochet but am terrified of trying anything with sleeves.)

i think it's because it's donw up with a safety pin at the moment. as you might be able to see in the pics, there is a buttonhole which i'm going to get a button for soon which shoud make it fit right. thanks for the tip!

That's great!!! I love it :-)

Also, I must blame you for getting me addicted to knitting: I am one of the people who goes on your crafts site, like, all the time. (I'm very sorry about your bandwidth, though, and would so donate if I could, but I can't...I'm only 13 & my stepdad wouldn't let me use his PayPal, he's too addicted to Ebay)

What was I saying?

I love it  Grin Submit it!!

Your shrug is awesome! Smiley
On submitting it to Knitty.... you might want to hold off until summer, as the next issue is devoted specifically to men. (unless you want to size it up a bit Smiley ) Spunmag & Magknits might be better options if you want to send it in right away.
