My first anything!!!!!!!!!! (1/50)- Cupcake t-shirt recon

Hey everybody! I am a serious long time lurker of this site. I absolutely love it!! What ya'll are about to see is my first recon...my first sewing of anything, besides a basic rectangular pin cushion and couple of stockings. I am so excited!

There is a craftalong going on right now.. 50 projects in 2010.. I have not posted on the thread b/c it moves so fast I'd get lost but I am giving it a go. I think it'll keep me motivated.

This is my number 1. I took some before pix on my camera but that was before I realized I couldn't send it to my computer...or maybe I can but can't figure it out..lol. I started off with a basic cupcake shirt that was too small, some pink with white polka dot fabric, and a too small pink long sleeved shirt. I was going to make it long sleeved but I just couldn't figure out the sleeves...so it stayed short sleeved. Well here it is!!

This is my angel face. Oops...I left a couple of threads on it. I should've also made is a little bit wider..she's got a little belly. I love it tho.

Super cute. The tummy too! I love the idea of 50 crafts in 2010, especially since, I too have been lurking, and am feeling the motivation and inspiration from all you awesome, creative people. Good job  and keep posting your projects. I can't wait!

I like how you spliced the new fanric into it instead f just sticking it onto the bottom edge.  It looks more like it came that way, instead of that you added some fabric to make it longer.  I think its adorable.

I was looking for the shirt that was your first sewing project and it took me a bit to realize what you had sewed. Impressive! I couldn't tell it was handmade at all! My first project was a disaster and a LOT of frustration

It was frustrating for sure...expecially when it came to trying to put the long sleeves on. As you see, I gave into the frustration.
