One of my friends on Facebook was making a Breast Cancer Awareness scarf so that sparked the idea to make a hat. Making the chart was a little difficult but I got it down Smiley It was a bit big to put on a beanie hat so I just made it into a slouch hat. I am not a huge fan of Pink so I made the hat white instead. The cool thing about the ribbon is you can make it any color so you can make a hat for any cause that has a ribbon. What do you think?

Breast Cancer Awareness Slouch Hat
by: AprilDraven

for personal use only or for fund raising. If you use it for fund raising please tell me how it went. I would love to hear about it Smiley

Gauge: 4 inches = 13 stitches and 14 rows
My head size is 22 and a half inches around so adjust your hook size accordingly. Remember yarn stretches a little bit so this hat will fit inches bigger too.

Yarn: regular 4 ply worsted yarn

H hook

Abbreviations:
Rnd: round
Sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
fpdc: front post double crochet
bpdc: back post double crochet
Ss: slip stitch
FO: Fasten off

*NOTE: use a marker and work in rounds*

With main color ch 1 or form magic circle
Rnd 1: 8 sc in ring
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (24)
Rnd 4: *2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (32)
Rnd 5: *3 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (40)
Rnd 6: *4 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (48)
Rnd 7: sc in each sc around
Rnd 8: *5 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (56)
Rnd 9: sc in each sc around
Rnd 10: *6 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (64)
Rnd 11: sc in each sc around
Rnd 12: *7 sc, 2 sc in next sc* rep from * to * around (72) (Try hat on at this point. If it is tight do another round *8 sc, 2 sc in next sc* if it still isn't big enough try *9 sc, 2 sc in next sc*)
On Rnd 13 (or next round if you kept going on the last section): 25 sc then start the chart

Rnd 13-42: sc in each sc around (29 rnds)
Rnd 43: 1 hdc in each sc around
Rnd 44-49: *1 fpdc, 1 bpdc* rep from * to * around

you are just pumping out the awesomeness lately!  Grin We have an auction for breast cancer awareness every year on our base, and I would love to make some of these hats to submit! Its mostly for quilts, and baskets, but I think they would make an exception for something like this! I would love the pattern, but wouldn't make them for the auction unless you said its okay.

Actually I was hoping people would use this pattern to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. I live in a really small city so there isn't many functions. This is my way of trying to help Smiley

I will have the pattern up soon.

Love it!  And I would make these to sell for Breast Cancer Awareness.  I did a vendor event at the local high school last spring- I could easily make up a bunch of these to sell there this year.  It would probably go over much better than the candles I was peddling!  Grin

Completely awesome April!!
May I make some for my friend who is doing fund raising for the annual 3 day?  She raffles off baskets at her fundraisers and I would love to contribute some wonderful hats!!
