On Christmas morning, my mom had a horrible migraine. By the time she was feeling better, my brother was off to work. So this year we didn't open gifts until about 11 p.m. on Christmas.

I didn't have much in the way of craft stuff with me, but I needed something to do during the day to keep me occupied until everyone was well/home. I found some black and white yarn and a crochet hook in my old room and I used this pattern  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=88721.0. I'm usually more of a knitter but it turned out alright.

Fittingly, I ended up giving the hat to my mom. I added the flower at her request.
