Dust of Enchantment
« on: January 11, 2010 09:31:15 PM »

I posted about this earlier but for some reason the images are gone so I'll try again this time. These are old-school Western tattoo inspired pendants that I made using air-drying resin clay (it's not the same as casting resin). They clay is already coloured, I just accentuated the piece with a little acrylic paint and sealed it with a few coats of varnish. The banners are customisable.
I don't want to flood this thread with tons of HUGE images, so see larger images on my Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/tracygoh/
Dust of Enchantment 2009. DO NOT COPY.

I also took some tiny heart-shaped bottles and filled them with casting resin to make these little cuties:

Thanks for looking. Cheers! ^_^

Fab! Those look great, especially the vibrant color! Air drying resin clay? I'm intrigued. I was looking to play with resin, but my sensitivity to smells (oh the migraines) makes me a bit skittish. Could you tell a bit more?

Thanks! My resin clay is the Taiwanese equivalent of Lumina or Luna clay. I also recommend another brand called Hearty. It has a faint smell, but not as strong as casting resin and it varies across brands. You can read about it here http://www.claycompany.com/lumina.htm

Thank you so much for the kind comments! I made more last night, it's so addictive! I like the purple one the most too, actually spent more time on it than the others so it'll be hard to part with it  Undecided

Really loving these. I've done some similar heart tattoo brooches with shrinky dink, but have not yet been brave enough to play with resin....these are awesome. go you!
