This holiday, we had a long (to me) 8 hour car trip to see the in-laws.  The trip went by much faster with this occupying my time!

I took a plastic Easter egg and filled with a bit of rice, then sealed it closed with glue and tape.
I started crocheting around the egg and increased and decreased stitches as the shape of the egg dictated.  The legs were about 20 stitches long, and I did about 5 single crochet, 11 half, 4 double so that the tentacles tapered at the tips.  The crochet has a natural curl to it.

When we  finally reached our destination, I was finished!  My nephew loved it.  The tentacles were perfect for him to hold on to and he seemed to enjoy the shaking.

This is awesome. You have a lucky nephew. My son thought the picture was funny. Smiley I bet he would love one of these. Too bad I am not so good at crochet. The blue thread/yarn compliments the orange nicely.

There is a thin, semantic line separating weird and beautiful. And that line is covered in jellyfish. - Welcome to Night Vale
