So this Organization XIII costume for the bf was supposed to be done for this year's GenCon, but owing to the fact that it was my first time working with a) a pattern, b) interfacing or c) a zipper, it went rather slower than expected.  However, I managed to keep chugging on it and I finally finished it, in plenty of time for next year!  To the pics...

(he just had to be creepy and put the full face mask on)

The color's off on this one, but I think it shows the shape a little better..

Close up of the shinies and the GIANT zipper

I'm super proud of it, I really think I did darn good, with what I was working with.
P.S. In case you don't know...Organization XIII is a set of characters from the Kingdom Hearts series of video games, and they look like this (so you know what I was going for...)

Thanks for looking!! c&c welcome!

That is sweet! My stepson wanted to be a Nobody from Kingdom Hearts so he wore a trenchcoat and spiky wig and we made him a Keyblade. Your jacket is waaay better than the trench was:P

Wow! This looks so incredibly awesome! Definately worth all the time and patience that you put into it Smiley Your bf should enter this into the costume contest if they have those at GenCon 'cause it's just too great not to! Incredible job on this!

Oh this is just so cool!  I seriously cant belive there isnt more comments on it.  I love it, and wish I had one.  But in fleece that way I could wear it in the house to keep me warm.  You know like those fleece snuggies.

I love it! I have been eyeballing some from a costume site but they are pretty pricey, yours looks just as good!
What pattern did you use for this? I would love to make one as well.

It's Simplicity 5386, Coat A, but heavily modified.  I left off the collar, and had to modify the front flap.  They have it overlap and secure it with velcro, but I obviously needed it in the middle.  I altered it after putting the interfacing in already, but I wouldn't recommend that, as it means you sew through several layers of both interfacing and fabric.  Ummm...I just freehanded the hood, traced a hood we already had and then made it a little deeper....I think that's all I did to it.  There was a lot of "try it on and change it from there" going on.  But I never would have managed without the pattern as a starting point.

Great costume! I don't know anything about that game, but looking at the reference pic, you did an amazing job! Definitely enter the costume contest at GenCon. Hope to see you there!  Cheesy
