yahaira, thanks for posting all that yarn porn! I haven't been able to knit a thing lately, I'm getting married in a few days. My yarn stash is taking over the floor by my bed
When I crawl out of bed to hit the snooze button (I have to keep the alarm clock in the bathroom, otherwise I wont wake up) I get to step on my knitting needles and New Kids On the Block tapes.

I bought new yarn.
But, I've already knit it up to make these:
Plus, I've finished two pairs of children's socks and a felted bag since I last posted here, bringing my yarn total down to 63 balls (from an original 80).
More details and a bigger picture of the scarf can be found on my livejournal page:

Get ready to smack me...
My bedroom floor is already dominated by knitting stuff, not to mention the kitchen and the living room. I've even found yarn in the bathroom.
I bought 17 balls of yarn yesterday and I'm planning another trip tomorrow.
Technically it's okay because I plan to sell the stuff I make. At least that's what I tell myself. It's not as if I didn't already have a crapload of yarn.
Okay, I'm bracing myself, smack away.

No smack here. I impulse bought a skein of yarn off a message board (it was organic! I've never tried it, so I wanted to at least feel it - or something
). BUT, on another board, someone posted about wanting to try some peace fleece and I came to terms with the idea that i could always buy more at a later date (I do co-ops for it about quarterly) so there was no worries about selling off some of my stash right now. So, while I bought one, I think I'll end up selling 8, which isn't bad. And I am now using 2 skeins of sock yarn, plus 2 skeins of worsted wool, and a skein of DK wool (the 3 projects I have in progress), so I'm feeling that while I did buy one, I could upgrade my status from cotton to wool. Maybe I'll wait til this yarn actually sells.

I've just spent the last couple of hours reading this ENTIRE thread (all 22 pages!), and I'm afraid I may have all of you folks' stashes beat. I have an entire closet, a chest of drawers, 3 plastic (milk) crates, several tote bags, and at least 2 boxes full of yarn that I've personally acquired, plus another 6 or 7 boxes of stuff recently given to me.
I soooo need to join your group, but don't have a blog, so I guess I'll have to be content with this board as my 12 step group.
Right now, the thought of actually counting all of it seems overwhelming, but I'm willing to give it a shot, one container at a time. I'll keep you posted...

Hi vvrmm! Welcome to the thread and to Craftster!
Craftster is a great place for scouting out free patterns to use up some of that yarn! (Of course, now I have the issue of too many patterns, but it's all going to be OK!)
Have fun!
My update: I've purchased nothing yarn- or knitting- related in weeks and weeks and weeks. I have two projects going from stash yarn: one stuffed animal, and one cable sampler for a KAL.

My updates:
Sold 9 skeins of yarn last week.
Bought 8 skeins of yarn this week (in my mild defense, I got picked to be a bridesmaid in july for a december wedding, so I'm making felted ballet slippers for the bride and us maids as a special treat).
Also received a box of yarn for a co-op: 194 skeins
and 2 of that are for a scarf for my mom that she specifically requested and the entire rest of the box is for other people. This box is crazy huge.

yep, I've got a problem too. . .it started out just collecting yarn and fibers at yard sales two summers ago but once I learned to crochet the pile grew and it frightens DH.
Am in a prayer shawl group and will be giiving a 13 gal trash bag of it away soon. When ever I'm watching TV I'm working on a shawl, scarf, or blanket. . .

Somebody just gave me a basket of yarn for my wedding! It's all SO beautiful, probably the nicest yarn I've ever owned!
Two balls of Firenze yarn, it looks like candy. I want to eat it. One redish purple, one mostly green.
Two balls of Patagonia, very nice cotton, one orange, one purple.
A ball of light blue fun fur
A ball of Red Heart Foxy in green
A ball of Caron Feathers in kestrel.
I admit that the last three are pretty run of the mill, but the first four are wonderful!
I'm so happy! I'm doing a weird scarf out of the Firenze, and I'm trying to figure out how to knit socks flat for the Patagonia.

I resisted the $1 yarn at Target today! Normally, I'll buy anything for a dollar, but decided that I don't really need pink acrylic yarn, no matter how cheap it is.
