i was awarded a, um, homely-looking picture frame at a baby shower a few weeks ago.  the poor thing was covered with wrinkled yellow paper and a wilted yellow ribbon.  so i gutted it down to the cardboard and covered it with craft foam.  yay!

i was going to cut off the extra black overhang, but i kinda like it.

(sorry for the poor picture quality.  i kept having to back up thanks to my too-bright flash, so they ended up super grainy.)   Angry

The black strips sticking out look very cool!  I bet we all have the experience of receiving some gifts that are functioning but simply do not suit our taste. Great re-decoration!

What a fantastic idea. I'm so going to have to use this once I redecorate my room in a "mod" sort of feel.

Wow!  That's great.  I love making awesome stuff from not so awesome stuff.  Have you had to dust it yet?
I have always wondered how the craft foam would hold up to the ravages of my dusty house.

yeah, it's getting dusty now.  a clean, damp washcloth seems to do the trick, though, just as long as you don't saturate the frame.  there's nothing cute about soggy craft foam.
