slingmomma - that is an AWESOME site! I love the simplicity of the site itself and everything they have on there is worth downloading and trying. Thanks for sharing - I've bookmarked that one and am sure I'll use it!

No prob! Thats why I love it too! The other cool thing is the quilt motif patterns give a couple suggestions on how to arrange them! Its by far one of my faves for sure right now!

This swap is VEEERRRRRY tempting.  I'm supposed to be staying away from swaps for awhile because I have other stuff going on.  But just sounds...  so easy....  and fun.  And it could work so well with the Granny's Daughter's swap I did a while back.  I have to think on this one since I have a week or so before sign-ups close.  Cheesy

I'm supposed to be staying away from swaps too, but crocheting is like therapy!

Slingmomma, thanks for the link to that site! It looks awesome!

And, goodmorningstarshine, here's a list of resources (and I added Slingmomma's link) and ideas from the first motif swap (the predecessor to Round 1 of the Scavenger Hunt version):

Resources:
Online:
http://www.mypicot.com/index.html (Thanks for the link, Slingmomma!)
http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/coasters.php
http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/smaller_motifs_squares.php
Crochet motifs on the Lion Brand website- you need to register, but its free, and worth it!
Books (check your local library, too!):
Beyond the Square Motifs by Edie Eckman
201 Crochet Motifs, Blocks, Projects and Ideas by Melody Griffiths
The Harmony Guides: Crochet Stitch Motifs: 250 Stitches to Crochet by Erika Knight
Crochet Bouquet: Easy Designs for Dozens of Flowers by Suzann Thompson

What can I make with all of my amazing motifs?
1. Afghan (Link)
2. Scarf (Link to free pattern, Link to image, Link to one with motif patterns)
3. Curtains
4. Tote bag (Something like this one, only made with a variety of motifs... like this one! Wink )
5. Shawl
6. Table runner (Link to purchase pattern)
7. Bedspread
8. A dress (Link to picture on Etsy
9. A necklace (Link to a picture in someone's Wists), Link to an Anthropologie necklace (tatted, but a cool idea)
10. Throw pillows
11. 15 ways to use crochet motifs (A list of ideas... but no pictures... not sure about laminating them, however Wink )
12. Frame them for lovely crochet art
13. Add them to the edge of a plain tablecloth
14. Baby Blanket

I really like that white, gray, black and red afghan! And the dress is cute too. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I am so, so, so tempted to join this! The crocheting would go quickly... It's easy enough on the hands if I don't go too small... And after looking at those links and looking up Antonina on Ralvary I am SO inspired. I mean, I can already picture what I want to make! But do I really have time Huh

That red, grey and black afghan was what inspired the very first motif swap! While I don't have any color theme for the current planned blanket, I may develop a plan and make another one in the future (provided I can manage to figure out the joining Wink ).

And, lisaredd, the motifs go pretty quickly, and if you only take one partner, you should be able to do it. I always end up making a set for myself as I make them for my partner(s). I consider it the "practice" motif. Once I've done it once, the second one is even quicker. And, I also get my motif collection built up that much quicker Grin

I did it.  I gave up!  I sent my information in!  yay!   Cheesy  And a lot of my insanity will end on February 12 when the play is over so even if I have to wait until then, I can whip out the motifs in 10 days and get them sent because it will be therapy and stress relief!  But I probably won't be able to stand it and they'll be finished on before then.

Grrrr at myself.  I didn't think to put favorite colors in my questionaire.  Even though none of my current blankets have a color scheme I do have colors I like...  greens, blues, purples, black, teal.  Oh well - when partners are decided I'll worry about that!  Cheesy

You can send me the quesitonaire again with those added (if you have a copy you saved) and I can toss the first one, or you can tell your partners once they're assigned.  Wink
