   - If no, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES/NO

Details of swap:

For this swap, you will crochet a variety of motifs for 1, 2, or 3 partners. First time swappers are limited to 1 partner. For each partner, you will need to make a minimum of 7 different motifs that total at least 25 inches.

This swap is scavenger hunt style, meaning you get to pick your motifs from the variety of options listed below:

1. A flower motif
2. An animal or animal themed motif
3. Octagon shaped motif
4. Motif uses bobble stitches
5. A lacy motif
6. Bullion stitch
7. Plant or veggie themed (pineapple, leaf, etc)
8. Motif is worked diagonally
9. Motif uses hairpin lace or broomstick lace
10. Motif is made up of smaller motifs (think grannys daughters, yo-yos, etc)
11. Tunisian crochet motif
12. A heritage motif
13. Motif is made of at least 3 various shades or tones of one color
14. Motif is made with complimentary colors (opposite from each other on the color wheel)
15. "Design it yourself" and include pattern that you write
16. Sender's Choice

*Explanation/idea of heritage motif:
 Quote from craftADDchick
"An "ethnic" motif. For example, I'm of Irish (25%), Scottish (25%), Lithuanian (25%), and Heinz 57 (25%... but probably a mix of English, Irish, Scottish and who knows what else... Gramps was from Maine from way back) descent. So, a shamrock, or a "plaid" motif, or a flag motif... or a ketchup bottle"

Note: If you are using motifs that are not symmetrical (such as a rectangle), you should use the smallest measurement to calculate your total inches.

Other rules:
*Only use worsted weight acrylic, unless your partner(s) indicates otherwise.
*All tails need to be woven in, unless your partner indicates otherwise.
*Communication is very important to me, please be sure to send pms to both myself and your partner when you send and receive. Poor communication will be noted in feedback.
*Please somehow label all your motifs with the pattern name and source so your partner and other swap members viewing the gallery will know where it came from, because we will want to duplicate them!  The best way to do this is to tie a piece of paper onto the motif and then include a sheet with pattern name and source or typed pattern if you want!

Yay! I'm filling out my questionnaire in a few minutes!

I even have a motif already selected from the list... and, I'm thinking I need to design another one, too...

Thanks, MareMare!

I'm gonna man up and do 2 partners. Maybe 3. Last time I only had time for 1.

If anyone's wondering, I've had serious difficulties with international swapping in the last couple swaps I've organized (with various country's postal services) and I just can't take the headache right now, so that's why it's north america only. Plus the swaps get over more quickly, with international it seems to drag on months past what you think would be the end date.

I would love to join a motif swap again, but I'm working on crochet thread motifs instead of yarn. Wouldn't be quite fair to ask someone to use thread and come up with that many inches! I'll be watching for your gallery!

Hmm, we could maybe work it in if someone wants to do thread. What weight thread are you using playswithneedles? Personally I can only work with 3 or 5 lol! I would think the same number of motifs, if you want smaller motifs with half the number of inches total, or half the number of motifs if you want larger motifs, with half the number of inches total. So 7 motifs at about 13 inches for small motifs,or 3-4 motifs at 12 inches for bigger ones (minimum). Anyone want to do thread? I would if my 3 or 5 is an appropriate size and I had ok colors for you (I have pretty basic thread colors, red, blue, green, gold, yellow, white, turquoise, maybe ecru)

Really?! I'm using size 10 at the moment. I think size 5 would work in conjunction with it though. I'm working in the color "natural," but any beige, tan, natural, ecru, brown, red, teal/turquoise or white would work. I'm making small motifs and plan to make a curtain out of them. I got inspired by looking at some of the clothing on ravelry that are made from crocheted motifs out of thread. They are AWESOME!
