So I've never crocheted finished anything before but my daughter's 1st grade class is reading Mr. Popper's Penguing and she requested a penguin to bring back to class Monday.  I found this pattern on the Lion Brnad website and whipped it up in no time.  I'll be accepting my mother of the year award later Smiley
Here he is in the infant stages:

Where else would a penguin live?

i have to admit the first shot didn't impress me, except for the fact that it was crocheted which i still view  as magical arts... but i was thinking "no way that is going to look like a penguin" but the end result is the cutest thing!!!! AND looks absolutely like a penguin.  and i remember that book, too.
