I got the pattern from "Get Your Crochet On! Hip Hats & Cool Caps" by Afya Ibomu.  this is my new favorite book, I love all the hats in here.  the pattern is called Kool Rock Ski.  I just used cheap Red Heart worsted weight yarn.
