i always have problems to find christmas presents for the family, so these year my aunts, grandmothers got ornaments that matches their trees style
i did them back in september, but forgot to take pictures until the day i wrapped everything

i loved to go through all of my tiny pieces of great fabrics
can you imagine how "happy" the boy was about the fabric taking over our living room? Tongue

they were very time consuming, as i made them irregular and therefore had to cut every piece of fabric individually. i think it took me 3 days to make all of them

my favourite is the purple one:

this one is THAT kitschy. but it's for my kitsch-loving grandmother (she has a pink decorated tree with pink glitter birds, so that's finde)

all of them together:

the biggest ones are 12cm in diameter, the two tiny ones are 6cm in diameter
they loved them, and i think that this is some kind of useful present, as everyone i know always buys christmas ornaments

i made fabric-bauble-thingies based on something i've seen there: http://oldschoolacres.typepad.com/old_school_acres/felt/:
all of them together

i found this strange plastic ornament and just had to fill it with sparkly balls  Roll Eyes

the other ornaments i made can be found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=333594.0

They are gorgeous.  It looks like it took a long time.  Lots of fiddly stuff there.

Nice work.

yes, they're made of tinfoil, the bigger balls are newspaper coverd with tinfoil to keep it lightweight.
i couldn't find any ball-shaped stuff to put in the ornament, at least nothing affordable. the ornament is really big, i think 17 or 18 cm high

and now it perfectly matches my parent's tree: their tree-colours are purple and silver :-)
