Is anyone interested in another round of Givers and Needers?

For those of you who haven't seen it before, the swap has a group of well-stashed crafters (Givers) and a group of swappers low of stash, or just starting out with a certain craft (Needers). The Givers send to the Needers, and the Needers send back a small crafted thank-you present.

Here is the link to the last round I could find:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=295421.0
and Gallery:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=296468.0.

I have been in a previous round as a Needer, and would love to be a Giver this time. I'm willing to organize as well, if people are interested.

I have to give this some thought.  I'm still working on destashing, but there are also some things that I need for new crafts.

You were definitely an excellent giver for me in the last round..... I'm slowly making my way through everything! Everytime I think of something I need for a craft it turns out I got that one small thing from you!!  Cheesy

I'm glad you could use it.  We had fun putting that package together.

That was also the beginning of my partner's swapping on Craftster.  Now she's a veteran swapper.

Hmmmmmmmm..... could you sign up to be both a giver and a needer?Huh

I have to give this some thought.  I'm still working on destashing, but there are also some things that I need for new crafts.

This also applies to me.... there are some things I would really like to have but some others that need new homes.....

The Fill-A-Box swap that's in sign-ups now lets you send supplies to get new-to-you ones back in return:

In the past, this swap has allowed for both.  If you sign up as a giver, you just send supplies.  If you sign up as a needer, then you make a thank you gift for your sender.  If you do both, you send twice.

Are you changing this part of it?

I love this swap.  I organized it once.

I'll be a giver.  I have a ton of fabric.

No we can still do that. I was just thinking immediate gratification for gammykatie if she wanted.

I could be a giver OR a needer, depending on the area of crafting! I'd join in as a giver this round!

I am interested in this! I am interested in doing some sewing and embroidery right now along with jewelry. Made a crochet hook holder for first time and sewing machine needle broke on me so I had to finish by hand. lol I am keeping it for myself, definately looks like a first timer sewed it together! lol

I can give yarn too. I have a stash that was given to me years ago and is just sitting in the closet. Maybe some scrapbook stuff. Will have to take a look.

I have yarn that I'll never learn to use, scrapbooking paper, stickers, ephemra, and other bits and pieces to offer! Can we sign up as both needer and giver? I'd love someone's excess fabric- I just got a sewing machine!

I think the fill a box swap would be good for someone who wants to sign up as giver and needer - because you send off supplies and get a box of new stuff in return!  Is there still one going on?

The problem with the fill a box swap is that you have to fill a flat rate box.  If you are sending paper, you need a ton of it to fill a flat rate box.  On the other hand, if you are sending yarn, a flat rate box doesn't hold much.  I know this because I've done both.

This is true.  And the fill a box swap is closed anyway.  oh well.

I'm just in dire need of fabric. Like, it's sad haha. And I was just saying if there was a ton of people who needed yarn and not enough givers I could give someone my yarn, although I don't have a ton of it, I would part with what I have if needed!

the fill-a-box swap is great if you're american, but for us canadians, it's pretty rare that the canadian equivalent creeps up.

Okay, since there seems to be a bit of interest, how does everyone feel about starting sign-ups tomorrow, closing around the 22nd? Send-outs for givers at the beginning of February, thank-you packages by 2 weeks after receiving?

Sounds good to me but I do have one little problem... My fist swap, it's the Disney Villians one. My name is being added to the list on my one month mark which is the 13th. Sure feels like I have been here a lot longer.

If it's cool i can still be a giver. I think I have some old fabric scraps to add. I would really love to be a part of this too.  Grin Lemme know.

Unfortunately, you have to finish your first swap before you can sign-up for multiple swaps at a time. Sad
