Many years ago I started irish crochet, I made an elaborate collar which took ages and ages as its very fine thread and a small hook. Since then I havent done anything. But a friend of mine had a baby recently and I got another friend to knit some hats and stuff, (I am not knit friendly either!!) but the hats have been lost.

I am working on posting a project on every completed project boards here on craftster. so I thought it would be a good idea to crochet the baby a hat. This is the result. I mostly used the pattern from the happy hooker, but with a slight modification here and there, mostly to make it a bit bigger as I didnt think the 'body' of the hat was long enough.

No baby in the house at the moment, so its modelled on a bowl!

its made from worsted weight wool, (for those of you who speak european, double knitting,!) on a size 4 hook

I am still not a huge crochet fan, but bow down in admiration at those who do, Its just a little slow for me, I am far too impatient.
