Mmmm!  Sounds yummy!  Maybe once my mom gets through her diet thing, she'd be willing to give this a try.  We've got some dried cherries that would be really good in this.

So some people were asking how long this stuff is good for.  I had some stored in a tupperware in my pantry and just took it hiking yesterday and it tasted perfectly fine a little over 2 months later!

Hmmm.. I just found a giant gallon bag in the pantry that is an undeterminable age.  Maybe I'll make my husband taste test it (and I'll watch for signs of illness Wink)

I just made a (fresh) batch yesterday.

This time, I used dried cherries and pecans.  It's delicious!

Awesome! Thanks so much for this recipe. I like finding different things I can do with a slow cooker and I love granola  Grin

I just started up my crock pot!!!   I figured it'd be a good way to use up the dandelion honey from last year.  It's almost dandelion honey season again, and i can't wait... i love that stuff!!  Next time, I think I'm going to use peanut butter instead of butter.... yet another way to sneak some veg protien into my suddlenly none meat eating sons diet!   so excited for 3 hours to pass Smiley

it's dang delcious!  it's still warm, and mildly burnt, but yum yum yummo!
I found it burnt easily on the side of the lid that wasn't vented, but the rest of the pot seemed okay.... Can't wait to eat it on some ice cream after supper while still warm!

Awesome!  You know... mine did the same thing (with the burning) but I thought it was my crockpot! hrmmm...

I just made a new batch on Sunday. Increased to 1 cup of honey but still no real clumping.  Undecided

I'm thinking I have to change the ratio of butter to honey.... more honey then butter, because I used a 50/50 ratio... cause I like things buttery...and I can't just make a recipe without changing it. I didn't have any massive clumping, and I think I'm going to leave it out on the counter over night on cookie sheets... (wont be able to get away with that much longer with spring around the corner)  One pan i've been shaking and stiring, the other I've just left... I'm going to see if it sets up into clumps over night... and becomes alittle more crunchy and less chewy.....

The flax seed meal sounds perfect. I can find that for sure. I've been wanting to make granola for ages but couldn't find another "grain" type item to add besides oatmeal. I was told wheat germ but I have hunted and can't find it in my area. Tongue
I know I've seen flax seed meal though!

Eliea - You may want to check the cereal/oatmeal aisle at your grocery store, if you haven't already.  That's where I always find wheat germ. Smiley
