Pierre is clearly a well-seasoned and erudite traveler! He hits all the hot spots and yet still looks so calm, the kind of guy who has a great passport photo but feels no vanity. What an amazing guy!

Adorable!  I have a woolen travel companion too!  He's an amigurumi llama, and his name is Carlos.  My profile picture is of him at Machu Pichu.  Great minds think alike  Cheesy

I love that yours is a monster.  He is adorable and expertly crafted.  Well done!

He's very cute! At first, he reminded me on one of the Vancouver Olympic Mascots ("Quatchi").  When I look at the picture now, I see they don't look too similar - but they could be distant cousins!

Aww he look's soooo cute!
I've learned myself how to knit recently (I figured: if I can crochet, I can knit too) and am knitting a dress for my poppet. Just two rectangles, 'cause I don't know how to knit rounds yet. But if I see Pierre I sooo wanna make him a look-a-like!
I like his face, and the little horns give him just that bit of 'edge'.

hehe thanks Cheesy

I'm not sure it merits a pattern, I just kind of made it up as I went along! I'll try and give vague directions though...
I cast on... 6? stitches onto dpns (very small ones) and then knit in the round, increasing a few stitches every round until I had an oval the size I wanted (maybe 2 inches wide). Then I kept on knitting, without increasing, to make his body, til he was almost tall enough, then decreased gradually (a few stitches every other row, then every row as it got nearer the top). When there were only 4 stitches or so left I gathered them at the top, knitted a couple of rectangles which I folded in half to make arms, embroidered and sewed on the face on felt and then put the fimo horns in and stuffed him. He is pretty tiny so it was a bit fiddly, the knitting in the round thing. err yeah ok not very helpful but give it a go! please, I would love to see if I've inspired anyone!

I forgot to say, I should give credit to my friend that I was travelling with who took the pictures, he's a good photographer!

no tail, no feet  Sad his body is pretty much just like a pebble or something! Here's a clearer photo:

oh the vancouver mascots are adorable! Quatchi is definitely in the style I was going for...

Well he is still adorable even if he has no feet or anything else! I am a new knitter but this type of thing doesn't seem to hard to make. I'll have to try it when I finish working on my current project. Cheesy  I'll be going on a cruise in September so it would be awesome to have a little buddy to take with me.
