I'd love to hear ideas for spring/summer crochet projects. It's finally starting to thaw and the last thing I want to do right now is crochet winterwear. Whatcha got ladies (and gents)? Cool

One of my current summery projects is a purse, commissioned by a friend.  I'm using this pattern - http://www.joann.com/content/projects/projectsDisplay.jhtml?articlePath=%2Fcontent%2Fprojects%2Fstatic%2Fnew%2Flittle_textured_tote.jhtml&CATID=25293 - but with two strands of cotton held together, a bigger hook (G), and a bigger base chain (45).  I'm also lining it, which will be an adventure, with my unfortunate sewing skills.

After that's done, it's this, for me: http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=6192&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=326&iMainCat=325 - my mom saw this at Anthropologie last weekend, and thought I would like it.  I love it, and deciphering a pattern is next on my list.

I like doing things like purses and shawls over the summer, because they're easy and quick to make, and I can use them right away.  What I'd really love to make is a bikini-style top for myself, for sunbathing, but I don't think my D-cups are too keen on the idea.  First, I have to finish the purses... and the afghans, and the poncho....

Absolutely, I love to share!  Be warned, it may not be shared until next week sometime - I need to get the other bag out of the way first.  What I need to do is get my ass off of craftster and into my comfy chair and start crocheting.

I agree with purses & shawls for summer crocheting.  Also add tank tops, shrugs (since they're popular right now), and belts.  This is going to be my next project, but with a pink, lime f=green and white color scheme.  It's a Marc Jacobs purse from his Spring/Summer 2005 line.

Catbastard, I saw that too!  It'll look great in your colors.  Is yours going to be totally crocheted, or are you going to use leather/fabric sides, like the original?  Either way, it'll look great.

ive been making so many belts!

heres a few  simple patterns:
(using a size N needle)
ch 50-100 (depending on your waist, is sthould wrap about 1.5 times in chain) then sc starting with ch2 and all the way to the other end. at each end, ch1 and continue to single crochet AROUND the curve. (it wont be going in the wrong side if you sc twice in the initial chain.

using an H:
ch 15, dc 15, afghan 15, sc 15, dc 15, sc 15, tc 15, then repeat starting with the dc until the belt is long enough. then dc an edging all the way around.
