This was SO much fun to make!  The house is all crisp gingerbread and the sculpted base is a softer, more cake-like gingerbread.  There's buttercream, royal icing, fondant and chocolate all over the place, prettied up with sugar flowers, fudge rocks and a teenty m&m doorknob.  Even the grass is sugar!  Ground gingernut cookies, walnuts and cocoa made the crumbly dirt and corinthian chocolate sticks made the support columns.  The 'retaining walls' are dressed with chocolate bark.

Some in progress shots...crumb coating, adding fondant, putting the house together etc

Best gingy house I've seen!

I'd drink some of Alice's magic potion and come live there!  Simply adorable.

Great detail in the foliage!  I also appreciate that the house looks not all "straight" but somewhat sloped and curvy, just like a real stucco-d cottage!  Nice work

Oh my, it's gorgeous! So realistic, in the way you'd imagine fairy houses to be if they existed... so realistic fantasy, perhaps? I'm super impressed with the base, and all that sugar!

I don't know why it's hitting me this way (probably the curvy walls or something  Roll Eyes ), but not only does this house have fantastic curb appeal, but it LOOKS like it SMELLS really really good.

Oh, gosh, that house looks so fun and delicious! I'm drooling for the chocolate. What a fun concept for a gingerbread house!

This is definitely my favorite... Because it belongs in a fairy tale, and it's not square walls! Great Job!
