Thanks for all the great feedback and ideas!

Stars: I get a few questions and a lot of funny looks. It's fun to see the reactions. Sometimes the most unlikely people will give me a big grin and a thumbs-up or tell me they love my car.

Sometimes I forget about the paint job while I'm driving, and I'll think, "Why are those people staring at me?"  Cheesy

Awesome. It looks really good on that style car.
I love the Karmann Ghia, I fell in love with one when I was 16. It used to sit for sale infront of an old gas station/mechanic shop. I drove by everyday and wished I had the $$ to buy and insure. I always wanted one since. I even would stop to look inside and even though it was old looking I still loved her. It was just so cute and tiny, perfect little girls car. Anyways I can still dream right? Kids don't really need to go to college........

Be sure to put some flowers in your hair, too! The hippy Honda is awesome, and I look forward to further installments. Maybe granny square seat covers? Smiley
I was a lot younger than my brother and sister, so when our uncle GAVE them a Karmann Ghia, I could only sit in the seat and dream (this was back in the 60s). I LOVED that thing. Then my brother wrecked it and it was gone. I would love to have one again some day, but for now we have Hondas - too many Hondas. I have a Civic SI (which could use some hippy love), and my husband and kids have old CRXs.
You've really inspired me to spread some joy. Thanks!

The joy is the best part. I love it when somebody looks up at my car and smiles. It's hard to keep a straight face when a tie-dyed hippiemobile is headed your way.  Cool

Ah! Gorgeous!  I paint all of my cars with unique/silly things.  Mostly flowers and butterflies.

On a side note, you should have got the ghia!!!!!!!  I'm restoring a 1973 Super Beetle right now, we could have been in the same boat.  And that motor!  Its like fixing a lawn mower... so simple!

Hondas are cool too, I guess ;P

Thought you might care to see pics of mine Smiley  I have since gotten rid of both of those cars, having only my Beetle left.

Very cute! Left to my own devices, I would have bought the Ghia, but my husband wasn't having ANY of it.

Haha, you should hear my fiance grumble when its time to go work on the Beetle!  Thankfully, we're almost ready for paint right now.  Just a few more coats of bondo [I know Cry] and a little bit of pounding on the fenders (which are in the dining room right now!) and off she goes to be turned cotton candy pink!

I love love love it that there are other people as crazy as me with their cars  Grin
