This one made me laugh out loud!  Historical and hysterical...I absolutely adore it!

Wicked cute! Love the naughty nun & your vine work on the back side of the buildings!

This history degree-holder heartily approves! I love that you made a cruciform church. The little figures and animals are so cute, too!

This made me think of Boccacio's Decameron immediately, with it's naughty nuns and friars. And it was made in a student kitchen? That really is a miracle! It's fabulous

Hello,

thanks everyone! It was my first time making gingerbread since I was a little girl (when I suspect my mum actually did most of the baking, and I did most of the eating), so it was a bit of a challenge, but I think it turned out pretty good, considering.

I did consider making the nun and brother a bit more risque, but I made it as a gift for my supervisor and his family (he is a really nice man), so it had to be kid-friendly! He's read my thesis, he'll know what it's about...

Thanks again for all your kind comments!

This is wonderful.  I love the idea, love the nuns, and love the pigs.  It's all so beautifully done.  This definitely rocks (and has my vote for the gingerbread challenge!)

This is fantastic! The nuns make it really special! I also really like the like the building details, especially the roof tiles.

Ha ha! Brilliant and very beautifully done. The little pigs had me giggling and the nuns add so much charm to the piece. I love the vine details on the walls. AWESOME job and it's even more impressive that you cooked it in a college kitchen!
