i got my purse from mrs.benjimadden today!! i'ts wicked cute.  its so soft.. and the perfect size for carrying around my notebooks!  it has the cutest little pockets underneath the flap and on the inside of the bag.  thank you so much!

Fabulous bag!  I'm going to give this equating a bag with a famous person thing a try...if it gets tiresome, let me know and I'll stop.  This one reminds me of both James Dean, Jack Kerouac and a young Marlon Brando--so i think maybe i mean the late 1950s/early 1960s and the Beat Generation that was emerging at the time.  It looks like something that any one of these characters (all rumored to have been heavy readers and writers--did you know Brando actually attempted to write a movie that failed miserably because it was too involved and too deep and too damn long--200-some-odd pages) would have carried around with a notebook and pens...

So there are my two cents!  Great job!

i have a jacket pattern that calls for the above material, but i'm scared to use it because it looks like it'll fray down to nothing the minute i cut it.  was it hard to work with?

all these purses are so cute, i can't wait to see all of them  Cheesy

Carina, If you really want some I can get it for you and you can pay me for it. Its on sale I think for $2 or $3 bucks a yard. check out joann.com and search for circles. It will come up with the search. PM me if you want to get some and they don't ship out of the U.S.

The fabric does fray pretty bad but its not that hard to sew with the machine, sewing the fabric by hand is a real drag though(I hand sewed the button holes because I don't know how to do it with the machine).  Sewing it with a serger would probably make it really easy.

yes! i agree, i absolutely love it!!
oh! and about that circle fabric.  i used that to make the bag for my partner (i'm not sure if i should be saying this, it might be a spoiler, but it doesn't look like the one hawaiilove made).  anyways, i got mine at joanns as well (oh the benefits of living across the street from one are infinate), and it's a calico print.  so maybe if you find other stores that carry calico prints you may be able to find it as well.
