I have seen them painted or covered in tissue paper and used for tea light holders.

A girl from work made baby food jar cakes for a christmas party this past year. They were individual and adorable. She wrapped ribbon etc on the outside, very cute.

I did that for my DD's third birthday.  Except it was a ladybug theme.  Put a votive in it, and put the entire thing in one of those clear plastic candy bags and tied curly ribbon around the top.  I still have one and I love it!

People have also used them as snow globes.

Oh I love the cake and baby candle ideas.

I plan on doing up a bunch of "magic 8 balls" in different themes out of baby jars for everyone for xmas this year.

Baby food jars are great for saving seeds.

I use them to store and separate all of my beads.
