I don't need no instructions to know how to rock.

A few months back I realized I needed more convenient ribbon storage, but didn't have a lot of space.  So I went to the hardware store and found a small circumference dowel and a rubber stopper that fit snugly around it (from the plumbing section).  Once home I dremeled a hole in the top of the dowel and looped a key ring through to easily hang.  I stacked on my ribbon, replaced the stopper at the bottom, and voila!

I do have to keep the ribbon secured because I have it hanging vertically and it will unravel otherwise.

Top of dowel, with hole and looped ring.

Rubber stopper on bottom.

P.S.  There are a lot of different size stoppers in the plumbing section.  It's really important to try it on your dowel, and to make sure it is wide enough to keep your ribbon spool from sliding right over it.

Great idea! I'm in desperate need of ribbon storage. Thanks for sharing Smiley.
