I hate summer! For someone that lives on the Gold Coast this is a very strange thing. I find summer really hard to dress for and this year it has been super hard.  So I decided to bite the bullet and make myself a some summer clothes that I actually like to wear and with this skirt I definately succeeded.

Here is a close up of the fabric:-

Not only is the skirt super easy to wear it is also super easy to make.  It took me about 1 hour to make.  I used this tutorial by Lady Melbourne http://ladymelbourne.blogspot.com/2009/11/sewing-lady-melbournes-diy-circle-skirt.html  The fabric was bought on sale so all in all this skirt was made for less then $10.  At that price I am definately going to be making a few more!  I am thinking a red and white polka dot one next.

Your skirt is lovely! I really like the fabric.

And I can relate to your hating summer, even though I'm from the Midwest USA. I'm one of the unfortunate people who dislikes both heat and cold, so there are very few days that I'm happy with the weather. If I could find a place that stays consistently between 50-80 degrees (F) year round, and has a nice balance of rainy and sunny days, I would be perfectly happy to live there forever.
