Raking hot glass is just as it sounds.  You take a metal rake and drag it through the molten glass to give it a streaked look.  The link below is a picture of a piece that has been raked-

Oh, that piece is really pretty.  Thanks for the info - I love glass art but have very little knowledge of how it is done.
