LOL I only speak Yarn. Wink

I need to finish the yarn on my bobbin (for A2K!) then I can get started on sugaree's yarn! tomorrow I should be able to dye up some fiber for it. although, I've never tried to dye a cream color before, any tips? I'm thinking a really watered down yellow, or ecru might work.

I can translate, Beeker!!!

Thick & Thin:  A yarn that doesn't have a consistent width ... some places are thick and some places are thin.

Plyed or Ply:  When you take 2 peices of single spun yarn and spin them together ...

Fingerling:  The 'weight' of the yarn, or how thin it is.  Usually if you Ply two fingerling singles together, you get a 'worsted' 2-play

Worsted:  see explaination of Fingerling. ...

So you know that I'm:

Rolling in Fiber

spinning singles
and
plying into 2-play hand spun for you!!!

Nesse:  Think of the soaps you make using Olive Oil or Palm Oil (both which have a yellow cast)  think of the color wheel of yellow to blue and yellow to red ....

I've found cream color roving gives a 'warm' cast to what ever color you want to dye it to.

Beeker, you want me to inclue the vocab test in my swap box???  LOL!!!

Man, I am getting impatient for my fiber to arrive in the mail. I have nothing going on the wheel right now so it would be great spinning time.

I'm super happy with my partner Smiley  I know very little about handspun yarn, so I think I'm pretty easy to please there lol  I have one large planned already and will start as soon as I get to the store and get the right hook (started it once already and my gauge was waaaaaaaaaaaaay off lol), and I have a couple smalls planned too.  Have some ideas for other items, but nothing for sure yet.  This is lots of fun already!

that totally makes sense, but I think you might have understood me wrong? I meant that I want to dye a white roving to a cream color Cheesy

haven't made any progress with ANYTHING today. I'm helping some friends with a movie (I get to run around all day in black spandex with awesome latex alien hands, feet, and of course, the head) so I've been going over lines and shooting. tomorrow I work all day... so hopefully saturday? maybe.

Hows everybody doing?

I've got all my fibers picked out, but I haven't gotten a chance to do much spinning yet.  I like to spin when I know I've got a nice chunk of free time, cause I don't like to stop/start a lot...  Things have been a bit hectic here lately!

But...I'll have the house to myself again starting next week, so I plan to spin like a crazy person!
